Breaking: Army ordered to pay N1b, apologize to Nnamdi Kanu for invading his house

An Umuahia High Court has ordered the Federal Government and the Nigeria Army to pay N1billion to the Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra Mazi Nnamdi Kanu for invading his house in September 2017.

Both the Federal Government and the Army were also ordered to apologise to Kanu for the violation of his Fundamental Rights.

Kanu had earlier filed a suit, challenging the invasion of his family house in September 2017.

Delivering judgement on the matter, the presiding judge, Justice Benson Anya faulted the action of the Army and Federal Government, and asked the defendants to Kanu N1 billion as exemplary damages as well as apologise to Kanu over the illegal invasion of his family house.
