The Southern Kafuna Peoples Union, SOKAPU had said that they were still unable to recover the 30 decomposing bodies of their relations killed by Fulani herdsmen from the bushes.
They also alerted the international communities of alleged genocide by the Fulani herdsmen aginst the peiple of Southern Kaduna. SOKAPU made this known weekend, saying the police had not been doing their best in stopping the killings by suspected Fulani herdsmen in 15 communities in Kajuru Local Government Area of the state.
National President of SOKAPU, Jonathan Asake who spoke, alleged that over 30 decomposed bodies of its members were yet to be recovered from bush, noting that, this was after three days of unrelenting attacks on Kajuru communities.
The police in the state had denied any fresh killings in the local governmen as claimed by the Adara Development Association, ADA, an affiliate of the SOKAPU.
Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Mohammed Jalige, had in a statement, noted that the association lied over recent killings, describing the statement credited to the ADA's National President, Mr. Awema Maisamari as fake and fabricated story.
The police then threatened to arrest fabricators of such fake news of fresh attacks on Kajuru LGA by suspected herdsmen.
"The attention of the Kaduna State Police Command has been drawn to a fake and maliciously fabricated story being circulated on social media, purportedly issued by the National President of Adara Development Association dated May 28, 2020 captioned Again Fulani Herdsmen Attacked Southern Kaduna Communities in which the writer reported that there are fresh attacks on some communities in Kajuru L.G.A where he claimed that from January to May, 2020 people were killed and many injured and displaced from their homes."
But, Asake pooh - poohed Jalige's statement, saying that the police were the main purveyors of the "fake news" over the attacks.
Asake, who spoke to reporters on the facts finding mission weekend, shortly after donating relief materials to members of 15 communities at a temporal Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs, camps at the LEA Primary School, Rimau and the LEA Primary School, Mararaban Kajuru, all in Kajuru LGA, insisted there were fresh attacks on those villages.
According to him, apart from Gonan - Rogo, there had been sustained attacks and destruction of property of Southern Kaduna people in the remote settlements of Magunguna, Idazo, Ungwan Galadima, Ungwan Guza, Etissi, Ungwan Ma’aji, Ungwan Dantata, Ungwan Araha 1 & 2, Ungwan Goshi, Ungwan Shaban, Ungwan Jibo, Ungwan Maijama’a, Ungwan Sako, Ungwan Maidoki and Ungwan Masaba.
He stressed that 30 decomposed bodies of its members were yet to be recovered from the bush after the attacks.
He explained that the decomposing bodies were among the 60 victims declared missing during the attacks by the ADA, just as he maintained that there was ethnic cleansing and genocide going on in the southern Kaduna communities.
He further said that unless urgent measure were taken to halt the killings, the people of Southern Kaduna, would be wiped out from the surface of the earth.
Asake asked both the state and the federal governments to verify his claims by visiting the various temporal IDPs camps spread across Southern Kaduna.
Asake also called on the President to as a matter of urgency deploy the military to the affected communities the way he (Buhari) had done to his home state, Katsina as well as Sokoto, where bandits held sway.
"We heard a sad report from the police authorities that there were attacks only on the 12th and 13th of May, 2020 and that the attacks took place only in Gonan-Rogo and Angwan-Rana and that aside that, there were nowhere that attack took place.
"From the information available to us, we know that several communities had been attacked in Kajuru LGA, not only in Gonan-Rogo and Angwan-Rana as asserted by the police authorities.
"We came here and the people here, none are from Gonan-Rogo and Angwan-Rana. The displaced persons from from Gonan-Rogo are in different camps. I learnt there are more than five camps right now.
"The presence of these people(IDPs), show that the statement of the police is false, not true and outright misinformation.
"As of now, many of those killed, the dead bodies are still there. These poor people cannot go and recovered their dead bodies.
"In fact, over 30 people that they said have been killed and they have not been allowed to recover their dead bodies for burials. The bodies are already decomposing and that no security personnel have been there to assist them recover the bodies.
"We are calling on the authorities to do due diligence; to live up to their constitutional responsibilities of protecting the people. We will continue to resist any attempt to displaced our people.
"We are calling on the Federal Government just like it deployed troops to communities in Katsina and Sokoto states, to see reason to deploy troops to our communities.
"Our communities are being wiped out ethnically and we are calling on the international communities that ethnic cleansing and genocide are taking place across communities in Southern Kaduna," he added.
