A Federal High Court sitting in Benin City, Edo state has restrained the All Progressives Congress, APC, from conducting any governorship primaries for the September governorship election in the state.
The APC was set to conduct primaries ahead of the state governorship election in September this year.
The court gave the injunction Monday and stopped its national Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, from conducting any primary election in the state pending the determination of the suit on June 11, 2020.
The Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki said Friday that only indirect primary could hold in the state in accordance with the rule published in newspapers same day.
